I have obviously been a bit slow in updating this site. I’m honored to report that I was, along two colleagues at the New York Times, Azam Ahmed and Christina Goldbaum, awarded the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting, for our series on the causes of US defeat in Afghanistan. This is the second time that my reporting on Afghanistan for the Times has won the Pulitzer.
